“As our lives change the sayings we want change so the possibilities are endless.
I still love to get dirty working with clay and my staff every day while I invent new words and phrases and products.

I am a pretty lucky girl!
Deborah creates her work in an old post and beam, granite cutting stone shed in northern Vermont.
Deborah and Mark have been making pottery together since 1974, but the plaques with sayings on them have a special place in their hearts, because of the way they speak personally to people and sometimes make them laugh.
“I have been a potter for 35 years. I have been making the ceramic plaques with sayings on them for about 20 years. I love making the plaques because they are a doorway into people's lives and relationships. Although I loved making mugs and dishes by hand for people to use in their daily lives I find I connect with my customers a lot more intimately through the plaques.
It seems we are all trying to support each other and show our love for our family and friends in new ways all the time. I especially love using humor to help accept tricky situations.”
The potters who work at Deborah's studio create the ceramic plaques from soft pliable clay we make ourselves, hand decorating each one individually.
